From the late baroque "sound music" to the classicalForm

Of six sonatas for harpsichord, three have been published and another three remain manuscripts. Van den Gheyn wrote other shorter sonatas for his students. With their symmetrical sentence sequence, these are closer to the courtly Divertimento than Gheyn's own Divertimenti.
